This season’s Discovery Cinema family film selections are inspired by The Sonnabend Collection exhibition and art produced during the 1960s.

Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day is a 1968 animated featurette based on the third, fifth, ninth, and tenth chapters from Winnie-the-Pooh and the second, eighth, and ninth chapters from The House at Pooh Corner by A. A. Milne.

The story takes place on a very windy day in Hundred Acre Wood. While Winnie the Pooh visits his “thoughtful spot”, Gopher pops out of the ground and advises him to leave as it is a “Winds-day”. Misunderstanding the warning, Pooh goes across the Hundred Acre Wood to wish everyone a happy Winds-day.
